Happy sunday evening. It's been a while so I wanted to finally update that latest treasures I came across.
On thursday evening, I happily scooted out of work early leaving my husband to care for our little one and headed to an auction. It was the lifetime collection of antique and vintage halloween collectibles. Boy I tell you if you ever come across old Halloween stuff, grab it up cause people pay gads amount of money for it.
These pictures are just some of the items at the auction. They also sold three antique victorian caskets. Those were quite interesting to see, how often do you come across caskets that are over hundred years old, without doing some digging of course. Ha ha ha!
This one, sold with the skeleton (don't worry it's not real), had a window on the front of the casket. So unique and spooky~~I think it sold for about $600.00
This little victorian casket was so sweet and sad, originally for a little baby~~But look passed that cause it's a great halloween prop.
And this was one of two Halloween Collectible auctions.....I can't wait for the next one. After that I will share with you what I was able to purchase.
This blog will document my treasure hunt adventures in estate sales, auctions, flea markets and yard sales in the Pittsburgh and surrounding areas. And hopefully many more places across the country and world. The search is mainly but not limited to vintage clothing and accessories, vintage fabrics, antique lace, millinery flowers and pretty things from the past.

Pittsburgh Skyline.....view from the front porch
Well estate sales were a bust again this past weekend. I wanted to go to a sale in Elizabeth PA but was feeling under the weather and too cozy in bed so I only decided to attend a sale in Mount Washington. The house was nothing special. It was small, old and drab and falling apart. And it wasn't even an exciting old home were there are little nooks and crannies and hidings spots. I usually like old houses that are falling apart, there are always goodies inside. But there was absolutely nothing worth buying but I was glad I went because.....well take a look at the view from the front porch.
Ok not the best picture. I took it from my phone not realizing it would end up this small on the post. It's a learning process.

Speaking of obsessions...
If I don't get to an estate sale or auction soon I think I might burst. Winter months are such a downer. Yesterday I really wanted to go to a flea market to hold me over till a good sale came up but it was so darn cold outside that I didn't want to leave my cozy living room. Actually I probably would have but I didn't want to have to lug my baby boy out into the cold. Seriously though, I can't stop thinking about it. I'm having a hard time concentrating on anything else. Yep, I'm obsessed.
Ugghh, I guess I will have to wait till this weekend. There is one estate sale that sounds promising. Hopefully.......but they are calling for a winter snow storm in the forcast.

All in a Golden Afternoon
... You can learn a lot of
things from the flowers, for especially
in the month of June. There’s a wealth
of happiness and romance, all in the
golden afternoon. ... All in the golden
afternoon, the golden afternoon...
Welcome to my blog and my very first post. I have decided to start an online journal documenting the estate sales, auctions, and vintage treasure hunting I do. I will include pictures of the items I buy. Pictures of the fantastic homes I get to rummage through and pictures, stories and memories of my life.
Briefly I will tell you about myself......
My Life...I am currently 30 years young, married to my best friend in Sept 2008 and recently gave birth to our most beautiful and perfect baby boy, Valentino, in July. In my spare time...which is slim right now but that's ok because it's winter and not much goes on in the estate sale world in winter...I enjoy finding the most beautiful vintage treasures.
What I like....vintage fabric, lace, clothing, linens, millinery flowers, silk trims, old christmas, and well I could go on but I just love pretty things. I love the excitement of finding them. It's like riding a roller coaster...the search, the find, the haggle, the buy and then the sale. Most everything I buy I resale on ebay...so if you are ever interested in my buys, they will surely be up for sale.
Well that is all for today, I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself.
Oh BTW.....I am obsessed with Alice in Wonderland
